Prof. Mukaka is the Chairperson of CHAD Board of Directors. He is a Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the University of Oxford, UK. He is the Head of Statistics in the University of Oxford's Clinical Trials Support Group (CTSG) based in Thailand at the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU). He holds a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Liverpool. He has more than 20 years of experience in medical research.  He lecturers and/or supervises MSc and/or DPhil/PhD students at the University of Oxford (UK); Open University (UK); University of Lancaster (UK); University of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia); University of Malawi; and the Malawi University of Science and Technology. He has supervised/co-supervised approximately 50 DPhil/PhD/MSc students combined across universities. He has secured several research grants during his research career amounting to more than £20 million in aggregate. He has more than 250 research publications.

Dr. Chavula is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), formerly University of Malawi - The Polytechnic. He has a Ph.D. in Water Resources Science obtained from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities and Duluth campuses), USA; a Master of Science Degree in Water Engineering obtained from Newcastle University, UK; and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Earth Sciences from the University of Malawi. Dr. Chavula teaches courses in Hydraulics, Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering; Engineering Hydrology; Groundwater Engineering; and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). His research interests include: Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM); Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR); Limnology of African Great Lakes; and Climate Change and Green Environment. The following are some of the positions that Dr. Chavula held in the past: Regional Hydrogeologist (C), Ministry of Works and Water Development; Junior Scientist, Large Lakes Observatory (LLO), University of Minnesota, Duluth Campus, USA; Teaching Assistant, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus, USA; Director of Centre for Water, Sanitation, Health and Appropriate Technology Development (WASHTED), MUBAS; and Director, Shire River Basin Agency (SRBA) under the Shire River Basin Management Programme (SRBMP), Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development. 

He holds an MSc in Medical Entomology from University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, BSc in Environmental Health from University of Malawi and Diploma in Public Health from University of Malawi. He has worked a Program Manager for the National Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Program, Schistosomiasis & Soil Transmitted Helminthiasis Programme and Deputy Program Manager, National Malaria Control Program.

Grant is a Chartered Insurance Professional with over 25 years practical experience. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London. He is currently the CEO for United General Insurance Company
